For four-plus years Dr Thomas has taught in various Senior Centers and retirement homes a class on writing personal and family stories. These classes have provided a structure that seniors could use for personal growth, self-understanding, and tying up loose ends. Additionally, the resulting writing was a way to share family values and pass on to the younger generation the family’s history.
Women and Aging: Opportunities
Based on Dr. Thomas’ book, The Women We Become and the accompanying workbook of the same name, Dr. Thomas both leads classes and teaches future class leaders to facilitate groups on the topic.
